Father, I cry out for you
Father, how my heart cries out for you
How my flesh hates you Lord, my lifeline desires you
But, my sin wants to destroy you
Purify my heart, Lord
Destroy the doors of sin
Let only your love reign in my being
Let only your Words stay on my mind
Make your words a tablet upon which I read A path upon which I follow
Words upon which I meditate
Truths upon which I stand firm
Oh, Father, how I cherish your Words
They are sweet as honey to my soul
They nourish my heart
They humble by being
They bring wisdom to my thoughts
They calm my soul
They separate my flesh
From the sin that is near it
They cause me to relinquish control
They bring me freedom
They show me boundaries
So that I might not perish but live
Oh, Lord, how wonderful you are
How beautiful you are
Though I do not see you
I feel you in me
Though I do not hear you
You speak to me
I meditate on your words
They bring me sustenance
They bring me joy
They bring me peace
Make my days short
So that I can live with you sooner
Destroy my days
So that only you can live through me
